FAQs

What are the steps to order?

Step 1. Choose your design for human or pet bust or urn (For any other items, please use the CONTACT US button at the top of the home page.)

Step 2. Choose from our selection of sizes.

Step 3. Choose your finish color. (All colors are hand-painted)

Step 4. Add item to the cart and complete quick and easy checkout process, then upload pictures of the person or pet to our email sculptedideas5@gmail.com with your confirmation number. If possible, we need precise headshots from the side, front, and quarter view. The photos should be from the same time period.

How to order the right size urn?

FOLLOW THESE RULES TO BETTER DETERMINE THE SIZE OF URN YOU NEED.

*Please note: when we refer to “healthy” weight, we mean a weight prior to any illness that may have resulted in weight loss, if applicable.

  1. In order to hold all of your loved one’s ashes, you’ll need to know the approximate healthy body weight of the person or the pet you are shopping for.

  2. One pound of healthy body weight will yield just less than 1 cubic inch of ash. Assume for shopping purposes that: 1 POUND OF HEALTHY BODY WEIGHT = 1 CUBIC INCH ASH. Easy example: A cremated 50-pound dog (healthy weight) will yield almost 50 cubic inches of ashes or about 3.5 US cups. So if 1 pound = 1 cubic inch, you will need an urn that is approximately 50-60 cubic inches or larger.

  3. There are a lot of other factors that play into how many ashes you will actually receive from the crematorium or veterinarian. Cremated remains can vary in the amount due to different cremation processes, temperature variations, and the bone structure of the decedent.

  4. Buy an urn at least slightly larger than you need to avoid having the urn be too small for the ashes. You can use any size urn that holds more than you need.

Would I be able to see the progress of my sculpture?

Yes. We will contact you to approve the digital model of your sculpture. In this stage , we sculpt your subject digitally and send it to you for approval. It’s important to pay attention to the shape of your overall sculpture as well as any details that distinguish your subject such as the face.

Once 3D printed, our artist hand-paints your sculpture. We will then take photos and send them to you for your review. If there is any changes that need to be made, you will be able to let us know and make sure that everything looks as you expect it!

How long do I need to wait before receiving my sculpture?

Processing time: Each piece is uniquely handcrafted and hand-painted to look like your pet or loved one. This may take some time depending on your sculpture details. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks after placing your order and sending the pictures for your sculpt to be ready to ship. Shipping time is in addition to the time that it take to process your order, and can take an additional 5 to 7 business days if within the US for you to receive your order.

Featured project

To a great client and amazing father-in-law! Watch the process from start to finish. The software used for the digital sculpt is ZBrush. The finished 3D print is a plant-based polymer resin.

3D woman bust sculpture, front view and hand-painted with a white and brown marble finish.

Feature: Dear Isabelle

This was an anniversary gift for my wife. The software used for the digital sculpture is ZBrush. It was also 3D printed on two Elegoo Mars Pro. The goal was to capture a style reminiscent of the Renaissance period. The printed sculpture is 9” high. The finished 3D print is a plant-based polymer resin which was airbrushed and hand-painted with a marble stoning effect.

3D frog candle holder

Feature: Leap Frog

This sculpture project was influenced by the beauty found in nature surrounding us. The software used for the digital sculpt is ZBrush and some work was also done in Photoshop. Besides that, I really like frogs, especially the tree frog. I also love the colors and tried to incorporate that dynamic combination of hues in this project.
